- You can enjoy making music with the DIY electronic piano kit which lets you build a 555 Timer IC powered piano with push buttons. The piano can play different notes using a 16-ohm 0.25W speaker. This project teaches you the physics behind sound. It covers how sound is produced using electronic components, capacitors, resistors and the way frequency is controlled in a circuit.

- The 555 Timer IC is used in sound frequency generation in the piano. Use of each of the seven buttons applies a 1KΞ© resistor to the circuit, changing the tone frequency. When voltage is supplied to the circuit using the button, the voltage sound corresponding to the tone is amplified by the speaker.
